Khoyo-Ya Gourmet

Mad about all things Japanese? Craving for food from Hokkaido? Or simply sulking at the fact that you haven't had the chance to travel to Hokkaido yet? Well... I have a solution for you. You can now buy Hokkaido food produces at Kyoho.
The food produces are a real delight to savor. We tasted the Akaniku melon which is prized for its sweet and succulent flesh and its intricate netting on the skin. These melon fetch a high prize only because they have been grown with extra care and quality is guaranteed with each produce.
Next up were Sherberious fruit jellies from Hokkaido. Now these jellies are the real deal and a world apart from your usual sugar syrup filled ones. These jellies were saturated with flavour, intensifying the flavour of the fruit it holds. The Yubari melon ones were very tasty, a joy to have.
This was my first time tasting Hascup berries, they look similar to a grape but taste differently, quite a unique taste that I can't really describe.

We had the cherry flavour and the tomato flavour as well. We even got the chance to try the tomato itself, tomato lovers would love them both.
The Hokkaido corn were so creamy and sweet. The white ones are grown away from sunlight and they're sweeter but i liked the yellow and white ones better. They're precooked and vacuum packed so all you have to do is to open up and you're ready to enjoy them. No seasoning, no fancy preparation. Great snack that I'll munch on anyday! They do offer corn and red bean pudding too if you're a pudding type of person.
Moving on to the dairy products, we had Hokkaido milk, butter, cheese and cheesecake. The butter was slightly salted and luxuriously rich. The cheese was rich and creamy as well, quality products no less.
The rare Hokkaido cheesecake was the highlight of the day for me. The melt in your mouth sensation that it presented brought me to paradise, must try!

Among the milk, I would recommend the milk coffee for its very milky and subtle coffee taste. I'm a latte person but I like my coffee with lots of milk.

So if you're hankering for some Hokkaido produce after reading this post you can head down to their boutique store at Takashimaya to pamper yourself or do some online shopping on their website.
